Jesus told us to comfort those who mourn. 

In the Beatitudes, Jesus says, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” It applies to all of us at some point. Nobody goes through life without experiencing grief at some time. There are those that mourn in our church. We need to be prepared to comfort and support them. Heartlifters was created as a small group ministry to do just that—and to be able to assist churches who want to start one as well. If you are willing to put in the work to lead a small group, your pastor will be happy to help you succeed. The return on investment is high and very satisfying. When members in your congregation support someone in this most difficult time in their life, it doesn’t just affect one person. Their family and friends learn about this valuable ministry as well and that will grow great dividends for the future. This really does plant a seed for hope for the future.
